For Art on Paper 2026, Grège Gallery brings together three artists whose practices, though distinct in scale and history, share a common conviction: paper is never a passive surface. It absorbs, retains, and transforms whatever is placed on it, and each of these three bodies of work makes that transformation visible.

Adrián Peña (b. 1982, lives and works in Rota, Cádiz) presents works from LINK, an ongoing series of unique pieces composed of two found paper fragments, each just 5 x 5 cm, mounted by hand on archival paper. Drawn from postcards, press photographs, and anonymous snapshots of different origins and eras, the fragments are chosen for a single shared detail, a gesture, a silhouette, a texture, and placed side by side. The result is a small, quiet collision: two images that were never meant to meet suddenly appear to have been waiting for one another.

Amélie Scotta (b. 1983, Nantes, lives and works in Brussels) works through long, meticulous drawing processes, often on a monumental scale, to examine the human being through its constructions. Her graphite and scalpel drawings on paper hold creation and alteration, excess and fragility, stability and precariousness in constant tension, extending a long-standing engagement with architecture and urbanism that has also led her toward sculpture and public art commissions across Belgium and France.

Silvia de Marchi (b. 1967, Melzo, lives and works in Arosio, Italy) spent over twenty years as a restorer of paintings, frescoes, and stonework before turning to her own practice. That history is legible in the minimal compositions she now builds from paper, glue, and ink: works charged with the past, with materiality and archaeology, that seem to have already aged into being.

Presented together, LINK, Scotta's architectural drawings, and de Marchi's worked paper form a conversation across three very different relationships to time, each using paper's capacity to hold a trace as its starting point.
